A Level III Certified Professional Organizer in Chronic Disorganization (CPO-CD®) (Level III) is a professional organizer who has been educated in depth on the issues of chronic disorganization. The CPO-CD® student spends 17-20 months of intensive time studying and applying this learning in practical application with current clients. The purpose of the NSGCD CPO-CD® program is to develop a Professional Organizers skills and knowledge by utilizing a coaching style relationship. This program provides the intermediate and advanced Professional Organizer an environment and forum to discuss client issues, problems and challenges. Participation in the CPO-CD® program develops honesty, trust and improves an organizer's communication skills. The CPO-CD® program is specifically geared to improve the quality of service, techniques and knowledge a Professional Organizer provides to their CD clients.

The Level III program starts in January. Applications will be posted in mid-October and will be due in mid-November.

To participate in this program a Professional Organizer will need to:

  • Have 1 CD client in client base

  • Be a member in good standing of NSGCD

  • Have received CD Specialist Certificate within the last 2 years. Click here for waiver information.

  • Meet "class" deadlines for enrollment application. One or two classes will be held per year. Each class will progress thru the program at the same pace

  • Be willing to provide 10 hours of service to the NSGCD

  • Be willing to provide 3 hours of direct service to the CD Population

  • Complete an application for program admittance and mail it with appropriate fees to the NSGCD. Program fee is $2400. A payment plan is available. See application for details.

  • Be willing to sign a statement of confidentiality with assigned NSGCD Training Program coach


Program Components:

Total Time Commitment: 150 hours

  • Orientation 1 hour

  • Telephone Meeting with assigned Coach for 17 hours (note 4 hours earned in first month of program)

  • NSGCD Service Hours 10 (5 hours may be credited and earned prior to program admittance or acceptance)

  • CD Direct Service 3 hours

  • Complete total of 3 Certificate of Study Certificates (may be earned prior or simultaneously 12 hours)

  • Complete Statistical Survey and program paperwork (estimated monthly- 30 minutes) 6 hours

  • Complete NSGCD Certified Professional Required Reading List (estimated 30 hours)

  • Complete Program Assignments and Written Projects
    Five written book analyses, written case and assessment studies. (estimated 80 hours)

  • Sit for 1 hour Peer Panel Review for Graduation. Candidate must complete an application to have a Peer Panel Review. A $95.00 fee is charged for the Peer Review, and candidates must complete an application and submit by appropriate deadline.

Upon passing Peer Panel Review (Consists of 3 - 5 NSGCD members, 2 or which must be NSGCD - Certified Professional Organizer® program graduates or board members), candidates will be presented with NSGCD Certified Professional Organizer® "CPO-CD" Credential.
